It is important to us to become more sustainable step by step.
So that future generations can still enjoy the Afro-Pfingsten Festival.these are our sustainability approaches:

Cultural Inclusion: At Afro-Pfingsten we celebrate cultural diversity and strive to create an inclusive environment for all participants. We recognize the importance of cultural sustainability, which includes passing on cultural heritage to future generations while promoting diversity and social engagement. Our program includes workshops, panels and discussions aimed at fostering cultural exchange and understanding. We actively support marginalized artists, especially those who face barriers to touring in Europe, and prioritize booking local African artists to enrich their experiences and promote the African music market. Through these efforts, we aim to inspire visitors to contribute to a more pluralistic society and create a festival experience that is accessible and welcoming to all.

Environmental responsibility: The Afro-Pfingsten Festival is committed to minimizing its ecological footprint and promoting environmental protection.
Through targeted initiatives, we aim to reduce waste, promote recycling and minimize CO2 emissions. In 2022 we successfully halved festival waste, and for 2024 our goal is to further reduce overall waste by providing knowledge to vendors and staff, introducing better recycling methods and offering biodegradable products. In addition, we aim to reduce CO2 emissions, especially from international travel and local logistics, as part of our ongoing efforts to protect the environment and promote environmentally friendly practices.

Economic stability: As a non-profit organization, economic stability is crucial to our long-term sustainability.
We emphasize financial responsibility through transparent budgeting, careful resource management and the creation of reserves for economic crises. Our goal is to maintain a balanced budget while investing in the ongoing development of the festival. We value sustainable partnerships and seek to collaborate with like-minded organizations that share our commitment to social and environmental responsibility.
